The Association of American Publishers has just released some estimated book sale figures for 2006. I take comfort in these numbers--we're buying so many books, I find it hard to fear the global plague of illiteracy that my elders used to threaten. (Of course, what we're reading...)
And, fan of e- as I am, I was particularly thrilled to see this line:
E-books saw a 24.1% increase in 2006 at $54 million, with a compound growth rate of 65% since 2002.
Hey, folks and folksesses, we're almost halfway through 2007! Bought any books lately?
